As a gay kid growing up in a fundamentalist religious universe that employed the full might of its authority to suppress my authenticity or any expression of individuality, I developed an insatiable curiosity about the world outside, a pretty thick skin, an intractable rebellious streak, and a voice that only grew louder in its imposed silence.
I was trapped in that ecosystem for the first 20 years of my life, an experience that defined a singular perspective that permeates my worldview, my creative process and the strands of my studio’s DNA.
We’re instructed from youth to fit in.
Don’t rock the boat.
Don’t upset the apple cart.
But that conditioning stifles innovation, it starves the excitement of discovery and keeps us imprisoned in cages of conventionality.
As for me, I can’t help but break the mold. I’m absolutely electrified by the hunt for the rare and exceptional, finding the thing that no one else has, subverting expectations and upending industry norms.
I’ve found an irrevocable freedom and a uniquely powerful energy of creation is released with the confidence to reject conformity. And it opens a portal of wonder and beauty and magic that the crowd will never enjoy.
That’s the universe I dream of exploring with my clients.
Because I believe radical individuality is the ultimate luxury.
When I was younger, I was made to feel that being a misfit was a liability, but now I recognize it as my superpower. I knew there was more beyond the walls built to contain me, and once I scaled them any fear of height became fuel to soar.
Today, I use that fuel to design delusionally distinctive spaces. You’re a one-of-one and you deserve a home just as singular as you—not one simply composed of the world’s best options but one handcrafted as 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 for you. And that’s the flag I will wave unapologetically.
