This Boston residence situated on a historic thoroughfare near the Nation's oldest public park eschews the traditional colonial references of the gas-lamped, cobblestoned neighborhood. Instead, the space was envisioned as a 'cabin in the city' that still feels attuned to its urban locale. A more bohemian aesthetic is rendered in autumnal tones to align with the clients' love of the outdoors and far-flung travel.

In the galley kitchen, black walnut countertops and backsplash bisect contrast upper and lower cabinets unified by leather pulls and brass accents.
Project Scope: Comprehensive Design
Dual sitting areas grounded by Moroccan rugs flank a vintage wood-burning stove, creating moments for more intimate interactions when larger parties are gathered.
"MHLI IS NO ORDINARY DESIGN FIRM AND THEIR EXPERTISE IS BEST IN CLASS."
WORDS FROM THE CLIENT
From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, MHLI was always professional, responsive, creative and a genius of a designer. They took the time to understand my needs and preferences and delivered a design that far exceeded my expectations and provided me ultimate utilization of my space. My only advice is to run now - don’t walk to work with them.
