MARC'S PICKS: Metal Head

For my client's guest room, I selected this handsome, perforated aluminum table lamp from local artisan Christopher Merchant. Its hand-folded sheet assembly and riveted body and shade conjure the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz and WW2 bomber planes recently featured in Masters of the Air, one of my current TV obsessions. The lamp strikes a perfect balance of primitive industrialism and deco ornamentation. I might have to snag one for myself!
