HISTORY &
LEADERSHIP

Bringing 20 years of experience in interior, lighting and furniture design, Marc Houston, Founder and Creative Director of MHLI, continues to share his passion for visual storytelling through space, to champion radical and innovative creative endeavors and to foster meaningful, synergistic relationships with like-minded clientele — an amalgam which brings about truly unpralleled homes.

Marc strives to articulate a bespoke and inventive vision of each client's individual identities, curiosities and aspirations in their most sacred spaces. Each home he imagines is unique in it's genesis, inspired from a wide range of cultural, artistic, literary and historical references yet all bearing the signature hallmarks of quality, curiosity, comfort and craft.

To date, MHLI has conceived residential and commercial projects across the US, including homes in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Boston, Washington, DC, Baltimore, Houston and Los Angeles as well as corporate office for Sir Kensington's and Helix Sleep.

We are driven to create spaces that blend utility with fantasy; to hunt for the most rare and distinctive; to champion the smallest of details; and to combine these passions into refined, fully-immersive, transcendent environments that elevate the experience of each inhabitant. Our aim is to creatively reshape all pain points into anticipated rituals of ease and delight. We take pride in precision, we challenge convention and we welcome the trials required to make the impossible a reality.

Our holistic approach involves rigorous research and perpetual refinement to filter our clients desires, style and personality through our lens of expertise and intuition, weaving intricate and singular narratives of artistry, authority and authenticity.
